River and Rowing Museum, Henley
A thriving cultural centre in the Thames Valley
This spectacular Thames-side museum, celebrates rowing, the river, the historic town of Henley, and much more besides. Its design has been the subject of numerous awards, and the light and spacious modern structure reflects both the traditional architecture of Thames-side boathouses and Oxfordshire's wooden barns.
Permanent displays, many interactive, feature the international sport of rowing; the history, management and wildlife of the Thames with artefacts, music and other media; and the story of the town of Henley as the home of rowing in Britain.
The museum also has an extensive programme of art and other special exhibitions, lectures, workshops and children's events. River and Rowing Museum, Mill Meadows, Henley-on-Thames RG9 1BF.
